IFS has released the IFS Cloud 25R2 update, opening new opportunities for companies to drive growth and efficiency with industrial AI. Intelligent automation and AI-powered capabilities streamline processes, reduce errors and free up time for more strategic work.
IFS continues to evolve its platform through continuous development, delivering two major releases each year. The latest 25R2 update introduces significant improvements to AI functionality and strengthens the system’s capabilities for sustainability tracking, maintenance, planning and service management. In addition, the release introduces IFS Loops Digital Workers – software agents designed to automate tasks and make everyday work easier.
Highlights of the 25R2 Release
Enterprise Resource Planning – AI-driven planning and dynamic pricing
- Companies can use AI-powered MRP simulation to test different demand scenarios before making decisions. This reduces risk and improves predictability.
- Sales Price Elements supports dynamic pricing in manufacturing. Detailed price elements and surcharges help manage raw material price changes and protect margins.
Enterprise Asset Management – smarter maintenance instructions and improved risk management
- Work Task Template Optimizer enhances maintenance instructions using AI-based insights.
- FMECA Data Enhancer speeds up reliability analysis by identifying recurring failures and risks using historical data.
Service Management – a clearer overview and better customer experiences
- Technicians can prepare for service visits faster with Work Briefing Generation, which combines key job details, such as customer information, location, materials and SLAs, into a single mobile view. This improves first-time fix rates, reduces delays and strengthens the overall customer experience.
- Service Report Summarization generates a clear, AI-written job summary for the customer, making reporting more efficient and easier to manage.
Sustainability – improvements to reporting and transparent emissions tracking
- KPI Narrative Generation automatically writes KPI commentary from reports, reducing the time teams spend writing text manually.
- New features in the Emissions Management tool and extended support for selected Scope 3 emissions calculations strengthen emissions tracking and help align reporting with global standards.
New Copilot features – stronger project and finance management
The 25R2 update expands the availability of Copilot features:
- Copilot for Finance helps ensure compliant revenue recognition, speeding up financial close processes and reducing errors.
- In project forecasting, AI identifies cost overruns and budget risks early, enabling proactive decision-making.
- Copilot for Service Technicians gives instant answers and key information to technicians, speeding up troubleshooting.
IFS Loops Digital Workers – software agents alongside your teams
On 26 June 2025, IFS acquired an AI-agent-based platform that brings intelligent digital teammates into industrial workflows. These agentic AI software agents work alongside teams and handle complex workflows across systems. They operate based on industrial rules, make decisions within agreed limits and run in the background 24/7 – in a traceable and controlled way.
With the 25R2 update, the following software agents are available:
- Customer Order Manager accelerates order processing and reduces errors.
- Supplier Order Manager monitors supplier orders and lowers delivery risk.
- Inventory Replenisher tracks inventory levels and automatically initiates replenishment.
- Operations Analyst consolidates scattered data into a clear view for decision-making.
- Material Replenisher ensures critical materials are available on time, preventing production or service delays.
Summary
IFS Cloud 25R2 helps companies move toward more efficient operating models. Software agents and industrial AI accelerate automation, reduce errors and save employees hours of manual work. Sustainability becomes more closely connected to day-to-day management, supporting long-term value creation. AI-assisted capabilities also give employees more time to focus on their core responsibilities and continuous improvement.
