Over the years, Aveso has offered young professionals a chance to grow into experts through hands-on work. When a trainee position opened, business student Emma seized the opportunity. Soon, she found herself diving into a wide range of marketing tasks.
Emma began her three-month marketing traineeship in May. After onboarding, she started working across diverse projects. She felt welcomed into Aveso’s team from the very beginning.
“The team welcomed me with open arms. After just a few days, it felt like I’d been here much longer. The atmosphere was relaxed, friendly and easy going, which made it easy to get started and ask for help.”
At Aveso, young professionals have the opportunity to influence their own learning path. At the start of Emma’s traineeship, she and her mentor set clear development goals, which guided the tasks she took on.
“My days were very varied, and I was able to structure them in a way that suited me. I worked on tasks such as updating website content, writing blog posts, designing visual materials and improving the company intranet. As a plant enthusiast, I also took on the unofficial role of watering the office plants,” Emma laughs.
An example of Emma’s typical workday:
8:00–10:00 Updating website content
10:00–11:30 Designing a blog cover image
11:30–12:00 Lunch at the student cafeteria
12:00–14:00 Writing an employee story
14:00 Coffee break and quiz with the Tampere team
14:30–16:00 Writing an employee story
Aveso places trust in its trainees, and it shows in everyday work.
“I was positively surprised by how much responsibility I was given. I truly appreciate the trust Aveso places in its employees, even trainees. For example, it was great to design visual materials based on my own ideas.”
The traineeship gave Emma valuable new perspectives on marketing.
“I became much more familiar with B2B marketing. I learned how important it is to understand each customer’s business and recognize industry-specific differences. Since corporate customers have very different needs, communication must be carefully planned and targeted. B2B marketing differs quite a lot from B2C marketing, which made the traineeship really insightful.”
Since completing her traineeship, Emma has continued working at Aveso in a part-time marketing role. Typically at Aveso, traineeships have enabled longer-term employment.
“The experience confirmed that I’m in the right field. I was thrilled when I was offered the chance to continue at Aveso. This has been the best workplace I’ve had so far, and I highly recommend Aveso to others!”
