Teknos is a Finnish paint manufacturer with operations in Europe, Asia and the United States. Teknos is one of the largest paint manufacturers in the Nordic countries, with production in several countries and a global distribution network.
To support future growth strategy, Teknos upgraded its ERP system to IFS 10, implemented new PDM system and transportation management system. Teknos ERP solution has more than 1,500 users worldwide in manufacturing, logistics, sales and financial management.
In project management, the goal was to coordinate project tasks, streamline development work, and plan for successful implementation. The innovative and bold design in implementation were particularly important as the project moved to a completely new practice due to the pandemic.
“The cooperation between Aveso and Teknos has been going on for several years. In the IFS 10 upgrade project, Aveso acted as a partner for Teknos in project management and as a consultant in the implementation of the IFS system. Successful implementation of IFS 10 took place in May 2021. The project carried out in a challenging environment, but cooperation with Aveso, Teknos project team and stakeholders went well. Aveso have very extensive experience in IFS and ERP implementations. In the project we adapted to the changing operating environment caused by the pandemic and the actual implementation was carried out almost entirely remotely.”
Data migration was executed using the Aveso Data Studio solution, while Aveso consultants also implemented the configuration and small-scale development of the IFS system. Teknos process efficiency and productivity were supported by developing IFS automations, implementing integration with external inventory management, and developing system usability through customized IFS Lobby views.
Due to the multi-supplier environment of the project, the multi-stakeholder nature, the cyclical nature of paint production and the regional decentralization of operations, project required open cooperation, active identification of dependencies and maintenance of risk management.
